Mint to be

Emerald may have been declared the color of the year but it was clear as soon as spring and summer fashions hit the shelf that mint might edge out emerald as the favored green.  I absolutely love pale minty greens so I was thrilled to find coordinating outfits for the whole family for our spring photo shoot.  Then I found sample pots of Valspar Sweet Mint at my local Lowes.  I painted a wall cabinet with a portion of one sample and loved it so much that I decided to try it out on a larger piece.

I painted this piece for a friend to stage her quilts on at a flea sale at the beginning of June.  It was so fun to set up my pieces and find out that she had quilts that perfectly complemented each of my pieces.  It was almost like we planned it!

We found this dresser at an action for $15.00!!  It did need a little work but really wasn’t in terrible shape.  Nothing a little wood glue and filler couldn’t fix.

The hardware and cute wood detailing were given several coats of white craft paint to set them off.

One sample pot was enough to paint the whole dresser and mirror and I absolutely love the minty pale blue green with the white.  I was happy it sold the day of the sale but was a little sad to see it go.
