In short. Here’s the story!
Start with one hideous but FREE dresser.
Make a plan and let the hideous dresser sit in your basement for let’s say, a year+.
Hide hideous dresser beneath paint and several yards of burlap.
Order some Case Clamps and Corners from Rockler to bring out hideous dresser’s inner trunk.
Decide just painting the existing hardware isn’t going to achieve the desired outcome.
Pick up some $2.00 belts.
Turn said belts into fabulous trunk-like hardware.
Stand back and admire how hideous dresser went from hunk of junk to hunky trunk.
The end!

Oh girl, you've got it in spades. I love this dresser! Although, not so sure it will remain stain-free (at least, not in my home). ๐
Wow, you are amazing!

Jessica! This is so so cool! And it's gorgeous! I would have NEVER thought of doing that to this dresser. And the drawer pulls, genius!
This will be featured on I Love That Junk and various other places this week. ๐ Thanks so much for linking up to Party Junk!
Very funny, and very cool!! I would have never in a million years thought to do this. It looks awesome.
I Love the Steamer Trunk Idea, went from Drab to Fab! Very innovating idea here… great job!

This is awesome!
Thanks Emily!
Umm this is genius. You are amazing!!
Jessica, how in the world did you come up with such an amazingly creative idea?! Great job! Next time I see a hideous dresser that I think even a can of paint can't fix, I will think of you. Thanks for the fabulous inspiration!!
Thanks Kristen! I saw a dresser at an online boutique that said it had painted burlap drawer fronts. That's where the burlap idea originally came from. Since it was such a boxy shape I decided to try and wrap the whole thing and make it into a trunk!
